ABC sitcom The Goldbergs is set in suburban Philadelphia in the ’80s and has made references to the Flyers – Barry Goldberg wears a Flyers shirt in nearly every episode – and had a storyline in an episode about the traffic in the Spectrum parking lot, but so far hasn’t paid homage to Veterans Stadium.

That’s about to change. According to news reports, the Phillies and Major League Baseball have given the sitcom loosely based on producer Adam F. Goldberg’s life growing up in Jenkintown the okay to digitally re-create the stadium in an upcoming episode.

No date has been announced for when the episode will air, but there have been reports that the Phillies scenes might also pay homage to the 1986 movie Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.
