Bojangles’ Coliseum, originally known as Charlotte Coliseum and also known as Independence Arena and Cricket Arena, is a 9,605-seat arena in Charlotte, North Carolina that is currently home to the AHL hockey team Charlotte Checkers.
It opened in 1955 and has served as the home for the ABA basketball team Carolina Cougars (1969-1974), Charlotte 49ers college basketball teams (1976-1988, 1993-1996) and the ECHL Charlotte Checkers (1993-2005). Concerts by the likes of Elvis, James Brown and the Rolling Stones have also been hosted at the arena.
The nearly 10,000 wooden seats in the arena were removed as part of a $16 million renovation, but only 832 of them were made available for sale to the public. If you were lucky enough to get one of these iconic collector’s item seats, Archer Seating has floor stands for you to make the seats stand up.
The product prices include shipping to the Charlotte area. If you are from outside the area, please call 856-692-0242 to order.
