Levi’s Stadium, the new home for the San Francisco 49ers in Santa Clara, California, will officially open tonight with an MLS game between the San Jose Earthquakes (which has a new stadium of their own under construction) and the Seattle Sounders.

The maiden voyage for the new stadium will be the first look for fans of the impressive new stadium – a crowd of 45,000 is expected for the Major League Soccer match, which is a sellout of the available seats since the upper bowl will be closed.

The $1.2 billion, 68,500-seat stadium is 39 miles south of Candlestick Park in Santa Clara, but boasts a host of amenities and technology that make it a suitable Silicon Valley tech-savvy and green venue.

TechCrunch took a tour of the new venue recently and detailed all of those tech savvy features in the video you can watch below or at YouTube.
